A K1 fiancee visa may not be issued to a recent student visitor (to discourage foreigners being students merely for the purpose of meeting US spouses). Though the K1 fiancee visa may take more time in planning, it minimizes risks that wedding plans will be scuttled at the last moment by a denial of admission.

Fiancee Visa (K1) Requirements
• A U.S. citizen must file an I-129F visa petition with USCIS for the issuance of a fiancee visa.
• Both the U.S. citizen and the fiancee must remain unmarried until the arrival of the fiancee in the U.S.
• The foreign fiancee and U.S. citizen must have met personally at least once in the two years before the petition was filed. Generally, you MUST meet your fiancee in person. The exceptions to this requirement are severely limited.
• The marriage must take place within three months of the fiancees arrival if he/she is to remain in status.
American citizens who plan to marry their Filipino fiancee in the United States must file an I-129F fiancée petition with the USCIS office that has jurisdiction over the petitioners place of residence. Once approved, the I-129F petition is sent to NVC which forwards it to the Embassy in Manila, Philippines. The Embassy will send the Filipino fiancee information on how to apply for the Fiancee Visa Philippines, including the medical examination and visa interview dates.
Generally, it takes 8-12 months from the date the petition is approved for the K1 visa to be issued.

On top of the peace, lives saved, and more safety, Ron Pauls foreign policy would save our country so much money that Paul believes he could end the income tax and the government would still have plenty of money left to run efficiently. No income tax is another thing a lot of people can agree on!
